Frequently Asked Questions

Many questions come up about my coaching sessions, so here are some of the most common ones — and my answers:

Q: What do you do differently from a therapist?

A: I ask questions that help you uncover subconscious thoughts and patterns. Coaching is goal-oriented and future-focused, whereas therapy generally focuses more on your past. I provide you with skills and tools you can use right away to move forward.

Q: Are you licensed?

A: In coaching, we call it certifications rather than licenses. My core certification is through AFPA as a Certified Life Coach. I’ve also pursued specialized training and certifications in relationships, trauma, somatic healing, and emotional intelligence.

Q: What if I need to cancel my appointment?

A: I hold my clients accountable and do not allow cancellations. If an emergency comes up and you can provide proof, we can reschedule. Otherwise, the appointment is forfeited.

Q: How long will I need coaching?

A: Everyone’s journey is different. Some clients find what they need in just a few sessions, while others choose to work together for several months. My goal is not to keep you dependent on me, but to equip you with the tools and confidence you need to thrive on your own.

Q: What happens in a typical session?

A: We begin with where you are right now and what feels most important. I’ll ask powerful questions to help you uncover patterns, clarify your goals, and gain new insight. You’ll leave each session with practical tools and small, manageable action steps.

Q: What should I expect in the free discovery call?

A: The discovery call is a 45-minute phone conversation (no video involved). During this time, I’ll ask a series of thoughtful questions to help identify the areas where I may be able to support you, and the areas of your life that may need a little extra care. Once I’ve asked my questions, you’ll have the opportunity to ask me anything about coaching, my approach, or what to expect. If we both feel coaching is a good fit, I’ll share my available packages and how we can get started.

There’s no pressure — the call is simply a chance for us to connect, explore your needs, and see if working together feels like the right fit.

Q: Do you give advice?

A: Coaching isn’t about me telling you what to do. It’s about helping you uncover your own answers and guiding you with strategies, practices, and resources that can support your goals.

Q: What if I don’t know what my goals are yet?

A: That’s perfectly okay — many clients start here. Part of coaching is helping you discover what matters most to you and where you want to go. We’ll uncover your direction together.

Q: Do you work with couples or just individuals?

A: Both. I work with individuals healing from toxic relationships or building self-confidence, as well as couples looking to improve communication, rebuild trust, or strengthen their connection.

Q: Do you meet in person or only virtually?

A: At this time, all sessions are held virtually via Zoom. This allows me to work with clients no matter where they live — across the country or even internationally.

Q: What if coaching brings up something deeper, like trauma I can’t handle?

A: Coaching can bring up strong emotions, and I’m trained to support you through that. However, if I believe you would benefit from therapy, psychiatric care, or other professional support, I will always recommend appropriate resources. Your wellbeing is my top priority.
