Coaching vs. Therapy

Understanding the Difference

Both coaching and therapy can be life-changing, but they serve different purposes. Therapy often focuses on healing the past, working through trauma, and addressing mental health challenges. Coaching, on the other hand, is forward-focused. It’s about taking what you’ve been through and using it as fuel to move into the life you want to create.

Where therapy helps you process, coaching helps you progress.

Why Coaching?

Coaching is designed for people who are ready to grow, set goals, and create change. In our work together, I’ll ask powerful questions that help draw out subconscious thoughts, uncover hidden patterns, and bring awareness to the beliefs that have been running your life in the background.

Rather than dwelling on the past, we’ll focus on breaking self-sabotaging patterns and replacing them with empowering new ones. You’ll learn how to harness emotional intelligence, build confidence, and create healthier ways of relating — both to yourself and to others.

Unlike therapy, coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it empowers you with practical strategies, emotional insight, and compassionate support so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

And because your well-being is my top priority, I will also be honest if I feel coaching alone isn’t enough. If you would benefit from additional support — such as a psychiatric evaluation, specialized therapy, or working with a medical professional on areas like weight loss — I will guide you toward the right resources. Coaching is about partnership, and sometimes that includes connecting you to other experts who can help you thrive.

What to Expect in Coaching With Me

A Safe, Supportive Space

Our sessions are confidential and judgment-free. You’ll be met with compassion, empathy, and real understanding from someone who has walked through hardship herself.

Practical Tools

You’ll leave each session with small, realistic action steps. These aren’t overwhelming “to-do lists” — they’re manageable shifts that build confidence and create lasting change.

Accountability

Change doesn’t happen overnight. I’ll walk alongside you, offering encouragement and gentle accountability so you stay on track with your goals.

Independence, Not Dependence

My goal isn’t to keep you in coaching forever. It’s to give you the tools you need to stand strong on your own — with clarity, resilience, and confidence.
